The Swain County Tourism Development Authority (TDA) promotes the development of travel and tourism in Swain County, North Carolina, and is fully funded by lodging tax collections paid by visitors to Swain County that stay in a lodging establishment. .

As part of that commitment to grow tourism, all qualified tourism-related businesses located within Swain County are entitled to a free listing on the official tourism website, ExploreBrysonCity.com. This is NOT a Chamber of Commerce website, and all of the services available to qualified Swain County tourism-related businesses is at no cost to the business. Learn more about other marketing and infrastructure services that are provided by the Swain County TDA through lodging tax collection funding.

All Businesses

Businesses that qualify for a listing must agree to a reciprocal link to ExploreBrysonCity.com (unless specifically exempted by the Swain County TDA).
In all cases, the Swain County TDA reserves the right to determine eligibility for inclusion on ExploreBrysonCity.com.

What is a Listing?

A listing is defined as a dedicated and dynamic individual profile page on ExploreBrysonCity.com for qualified partner businesses. Partners may request a login and can then update their individual listing. Any listing on ExploreBrysonCity.com may be revised or updated at the discretion of the Swain County TDA.

Partners may qualify for their listing to appear in multiple categories. For example, a hotel may also be qualified to appear in both the Hotels and the Group Lodging categories. Or an outfitter may qualify to be listed in multiple outdoor adventure categories, at the discretion of the Swain County TDA. Listings can also include up to ten photos, YouTube videos, a link to your website and social media accounts, and all your contact information.

It is very likely that we have already discovered your business and have listing(s) established for you on ExploreBrysonCity.com. Upon requesting access to your listing, you will receive an email with a username and password for our Extranet where you can edit and manage your information.Within the Extranet, you can manage your listing, photos, links, social media, descriptions, amenities, and more. You can also see statistics about your listing. Extranet instructions are available to help you update your listing or to submit an event to our calendar

Airbnb Owners

If you are an owner of an Airbnb property in Swain County, your listing is automatically included on ExploreBrysonCity.com on this page through an integration directly with Airbnb.

Vacation Rental Owners

If your vacation rental property is managed by a vacation rental agency in Swain County (whether you are on Airbnb or not), you will find your listing on our cabins and cottages pages. In this case, your listing on our website is managed by your vacation rental agency. You can also use the "search" feature at the top of any page of the website to search for your cabin by name.

Deals and Discounts

ExploreBrysonCity.com “Deals & Discounts” page is reserved for area attractions, dining, and/or accommodations promotions curated or organized by the Swain County TDA that meet lodging guidelines.

Calendar of Events

Tourism-related events located within Swain County may be listed in the Calendar of Events. The events posted shall be those determined by the Swain County TDA to be of interest to visitors to Swain County. The Swain County TDA reserves the right to determine eligibility for inclusion on ExploreBrysonCity.com with consideration given to the ability of the event to generate overnight lodging stay. The site is not intended to serve as a community calendar for events primarily of interest to a local residential population.

Wedding Service Providers

Swain County businesses are eligible for inclusion in the wedding section.
In the event of a lack of Swain County wedding service providers in any wedding service category, wedding service providers outside of Swain County may be included with a listing, at the sole discretion of the Swain County TDA.

Ineligible Businesses include:

Not-for-profit meeting facilities with on-site accommodations exempted from collecting occupancy tax.
Internet-based companies whose primary business is to book real-time online accommodation reservations.
Accommodations located outside of Swain County.
Real-estate, development companies, and similar organizations.
Other, as determined by the the Swain County TDA
