From its headwaters in northeast Georgia, through the mountains of scenic western North Carolina, along the southern border of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, on down to Fontana Lake and its eventual confluence with the Tennessee River near Knoxville, the Little Tennessee River (“Little T”) is 135 miles of Appalachian Mountain glory.
The “Little T’s” most impressive feature is its ability to nurture a vast array of aquatic life. It is designated as a Native Fish Conservation Area, containing more than 100 species of native fish. Access points to the Little Tennessee River near Bryson City include:
