When do the leaves change color in Bryson City?

In Bryson City and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, leaf color changes happen from early October through early November. The highest mountain elevations will start to see leaf color change in early October. Mid- to low- elevations will see gradual color change from mid-October through early November. There are some variable factors such as rain and wind that could cause leaves to fall early, or a delayed cold snap which could cause leaves to change later in the season.
